Discover, experiment and create playful interactive experiences using Makey Makey, the simple circuit board that allows you to control a computer using anything conductive.

In this workshop, led by Frazer Merrick of Signals, you'll learn how make beats with bananas and build interactive posters from art and crafts materials.

No previous computing experience or equipment required.

ABOUT THE LEAD ARTIST
Frazer Merrick is the Digital Producer at Signals, an award winning digital arts charity in Colchester, Essex. Signals use technology and creativity to inspire and engage people of all ages and backgrounds encouraging self-expression, community building, and personal growth through creative technology.

ABOUT ELECTRIC MEDWAY HACK
This workshop is open to members of Electric Medway Hack - our new sector learning programme for artists and educators working with technology. To access this programme you must be aged 18+, sign up for free membership, and live, learn or work in Medway.

GETTING TO THE VENUE
The workshop is at A+E Lab, a studio space run by dance technology company AØE. It is based within the gated area of The Historic Dockyard Chatham. Please meet us at The Galvanising Shop, which is just outside the gated area, at 9.45am, and we will walk you through to the studio.

Car - Free parking is available in the main visitor car park. The Galvanising Shop is next to the Visitor Entrance.

Train - The nearest train station is Chatham, which is a 25 minute walk.

Bus - Arriva bus routes 1 or 2 run frequently from Chatham Bus Station to Dock Rd near the car park.

FACILITIES AND ACCESSIBILITY
The workshop will provide tea, coffee and water, alongside some light snacks. You will need to provide your own lunch, which can be stored in a fridge, or food will be available at cafes onsite. Lunch is 30 minutes.

The venue is wheelchair accessible.

There are toilets available.

We will provide any equipment.
