We are looking for someone with a good understanding of the technology typically used in a virtual production studio. Bias more towards the hardware, as the use of Unreal Engine will only be for playback and when required to re-configure an existing project. Unreal Engine 3D artist and developer skills are not required. Industry experience with electrical power distribution, basic rigging and general video technology. Ideally the person should be happy to work at heights (generally on an A frame ladder) up to a maximum of about 4 metres.
Basic understanding of LED screen technology, typical LED screen hardware, panels, power and processing.
Good general electrical knowledge:
Single and three phase understanding.
Common connectors used in the industry for power distribution (international)
Competent understanding of video technology:
Resolutions, refresh rates etc. HD, 4K etc
Common video connectors, i.e. HDMI, DIsplayPort, uses and limitations.
Genlock/FrameSync
Format conversion, i.e. technology to scale/change content from input to LED processors if required.
Competent understanding of computer hardware and networking:
Windows 11 PC computer - Operation and troubleshooting
NVIDIA graphics cards with frame sync - understanding and troubleshooting.
Networking - understanding and troubleshooting.
Audio and DMX 512 (sound and lighting) - understanding and trouble shooting.
Unreal Engine nDisplay cluster rendering setup.
KVM switch understanding.
Software:
Unreal Engine 5.3.2
Running an existing project from a timeline (no development required).
nDisplay - Good knowledge to reconfigure if required.
Windows 11
Good general Windows 11 knowledge.
Experienced in using the Windows 11 Command Prompt.
Source Control
Perforce experience is desirable, though not essential.
