AΦE’s new live stage production, Orpheus is the sequel to our LILITH.AEON installation.
Exploring the future of humanity, Life and Death and the transformation from one to the other.

Our virtual character Lilith is a little girl frozen after her death and reincarnated digitally far away from present time.
Orpheus tells the story of Lilith’s parents in the time that Lilith was frozen and waiting for her reawakening.

Lilith’s father, Orpheus is on the quest to revive her. He seeks ways to communicate with Lilith as grief takes over his and his wife’s life.

Orpheus is a live immersive stage performance that uses kinetic stage design and spatial sound technology (wave field synthesis).

Type of show: Live Immersive Performance suitable for 16+
Venue: Theatre
Stage dimension: 15m x 15m (Performance area)
Duration: 60 minutes

Audience experience: There are two types of audiences in Orpheus: Immersed and auditorium audiences. The immersed audience (up to 20 people) will be given a pre-show speech by the usher and will be invited to come into the performance area.

Stage designs and score:

The Wave Field Synthesis System, consisting of 3 arrays of speakers, will be displayed on two sides and at the back of the stage. The centre of the stage will host the moving stage set using conveyor belts. Auditorium’s sound system will be also spatialised by placing extra speakers to complete the sound on stage.

The performance will include 2 dance artists and 2 live musicians.

Using the WFS we aim to bring the invisible element of the show visible, create landscapes and sceneries through moving sound.
