Hi3 Network: Creative 360 Filmmaking Workshop

This hands-on workshop is aimed at participants willing to learn how to create their own 360 film.
No prior experience required! Held at our production lab at Hi3 Network hub in Maidstone.

From creative thinking, to shooting and delivering the film to your audience, we will go through each stage together step by step. Most importantly, we want this to be your film with your own creative inputs. Whether you are working in a commercial businesses, marketing company, education sector, creative industry, you name it, we will tailor our approach to you and hope to discover your world and explore your ideas during the workshop, as much as we will share ours.

Workshop will consist of:

1. Demo of AΦE’s production WHIST and 0AR, WHIST artist's talk (WHSIT creation process) and Q&A
2. Presentation by James Brown about current 360 Film landscape
3. Concept making
4. Creating a storyboard, script, environment/set design and action
5. Shooting
6. Editing
7. Review your own 360 Film
8. Open discussion

It will be led by AΦE’s Artistic Directors, Aoi and Esteban and James Brown DOP of WHIST. We will closely follow participants’ progression and tailor them to your needs and creation. Making a group or individual is totally up to each participant. The workshop’s aim is to understand the process of 360 Filmmaking and test the ideas.

Participants are welcome to bring your own equipment if they wish:

- 360 Camera
- Monopod
- VR headset
- External Hard drive
- Any ideas, props, text, tools you wish to explore

You are welcome to bring your own laptop if you wish.
We will be editing on DaVinci Resolve so please be sure to have this installed on your device.

Lunch and Teas/coffee are provided.

AΦE is a Medway/Kent (UK) based dance company founded by accomplished dance artists Aoi Nakamura (Japanese) and Esteban Lecoq (French) in 2016. As trailblazers in this area they were the UK's first dance company to tour Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) productions internationally. They explore and develop unique experiences while incorporating cutting-edge technology into their performances.

Aoi Nakamura, Co-Founder & Co-Artistic Director, Choreographer, Dancer.

Aoi is an accomplished performer in state theatres in Germany, Jasmin Vardimon Company and Punchdrunk since 2006. She is an award-winning choreographer with her work Ototoxic (2008) which was awarded first prize at the international choreography competition at Aarhus and was performed in Germany and Japan.

Esteban Lecoq, Co-founder & Co-Artistic Director, Choreographer, Dancer.

Esteban has worked with Johannes Wieland Dance company (Kassel, Germany), Jasmin Vardimon Company and Punchdrunk among numerous other artists and choreographers in dance, film and immersive productions. He started to choreograph alongside his performing career since 2008.
